Roe V. Wade Prompts Telehealth Surge in Reproductive Care

In early May 2022, news broke that the Supreme Court is set to overturn Roe v. Wade, a landmark case that ensured access to abortion since 1973. This now means the decision to guarantee or restrict access to abortion will be controlled at a state level. The ramifications of this decision include many patients clamoring toward telehealth to ensure they can get their reproductive care needs met. Overdose Deaths Prove Endemic in U.S.; New Record Set in 2021

According to results published by the CDC, more than 107,000 Americans died from drug overdoses last year, a new disheartening record for the country. This article outlines what changes occurred in each state along opioid, synthetic, methadone, cocaine, heroin and psychostimulant drug use.

It ranks the evidence from low to moderate, giving a well-rounded idea of how clinicians might expect to see their patients’ health evolve during the program.

Telehealth Proves Powerful in Encouraging Minorities to Continue With Therapy

Did you know that more than 50 percent of minorities end their therapy sessions prematurely due to lack of provider fit? It’s a glaring statistic that can have consequences for a large number of black, brown or Asian Pacific Islander individuals.

That’s why this one telehealth platform is seeking to use the service to help connect minority patients to providers who intend to use culturally-competent care with intention and to providers who do not fear topics with which they are unfamiliar.
